Areas we cover
We collect pianos from Rotherham and across the S60 postcode area on Thursdays, hold them in steady climate-controlled conditions in Oxfordshire, and return them whenever you are ready.
Book storageRotherham on its own terms
Rotherham is not Sheffield's suburb. It is a borough in its own right, with its own town centre, its own civic institutions, and its own pattern of family life that brings pianos to the door of a storage company. The Town Hall anchors the middle of town and is the building residents still use to place themselves geographically when giving directions. Around it, and stretching out through Broom, Moorgate, Canklow and Brinsworth, sits a large stock of uprights and baby grands, many bought when the families who lived here had children in regular lessons. Those children have grown up, moved to Leeds or Manchester, and the piano now occupies a room whose purpose has changed. Houses in Broom are being sold after decades of family ownership. Estates in Moorgate and Canklow are going through probate. Downsizes across the S60 area are leaving perfectly good instruments with nowhere obvious to go.
We collect from Rotherham and the S60 postcode area every Thursday. The piano travels 125 miles to our climate-controlled Oxfordshire facility and stays there, properly looked after, until you are ready for it back.

Collection day
Our collection crew is in S60 postcodes every Thursday. S60 covers Rotherham town centre, Moorgate, Broom, Canklow, Ickles, Northfield, Thorn Hill and the New York area to the east. The Thursday route extends into the surrounding postcode districts as well: S61 toward Kimberworth and Masbrough, S62 toward Rawmarsh and Parkgate, and S65 toward Herringthorpe, Eastwood and Aldwarke. The full list of villages and districts is set out in the section below.
We confirm a three-hour target window the evening before your collection. Stair access at your address is assessed and costed clearly when you book online, so you have the full picture before confirming anything. Stairs are chargeable and that charge is agreed at booking, with no additions on the day. If Thursday genuinely does not suit, an off-day collection can be arranged for an additional charge.
Villages and districts
S60 is the main Rotherham district: town centre, Moorgate, Broom, Canklow, Ickles, Northfield, Thorn Hill and New York. S61 covers Kimberworth Park, Masbrough, Kimberworth, Wingfield, Jordan and Dropping Well. S62 takes in Rawmarsh, Parkgate, Ryecroft, Sandhill, Upper Haugh and Higher Stubbin.
East of the town, S65 covers Herringthorpe, Eastwood, Aldwarke, Clifton, East Herringthorpe and East Dene. S66 takes in Maltby, Wickersley, Bramley Lings, Lings Common and Church Field. To the south and east, S26 covers Aston, Swallownest, Wales Bar, Kiveton Park, Wales and Harthill. S13, on the Sheffield boundary, takes in Handsworth, Woodhouse, Richmond, Orgreave, Woodhouse Mill and Woodthorpe Estate.
If your address falls within any of these districts, you are on the Thursday route. The online booking form checks your postcode automatically as you enter it.
Why storage conditions matter
Much of the residential property in Broom, Moorgate, Herringthorpe and the roads between the town centre and the arterial routes out was built in the Victorian and interwar periods. These are solid, well-built homes, but they carry older heating systems and varying levels of insulation that give a piano a difficult environment through the year. A winter in an unheated front room, or a summer where windows are left open and humidity comes and goes with the weather, causes the soundboard to swell and contract along its grain, loosens the tuning pins, softens the glue that holds the action together, and leaves the instrument progressively harder to bring back into good order the longer it stays in those conditions.
A standard self-storage unit does not improve matters. Inside a standard unit, temperature and humidity follow the outdoor seasons directly, which means a piano sitting there is in conditions no better than it had at home.
Our Oxfordshire facility holds temperature and humidity at a stable level throughout the year. Full insurance covers the instrument from the moment our specialist crew arrives in Rotherham to collect it, through every week it is with us, and through to re-delivery. Monitored security operates at all hours with no public access to the storage floor.
Who uses the service
Families downsizing or completing a house sale account for a large share of calls from the Rotherham area. A piano bought for children who are now grown and living elsewhere sits in a room the owners want back, or a property being sold needs to be cleared. We collect on Thursday, store the piano properly, and re-deliver to the new address or a family member whenever they are ready.
Probate and estate situations are a regular part of what we handle from across the Rotherham borough. When a piano needs to be held securely while an estate resolves, the instrument can be collected without the executor being present on the day, provided access details are given at booking. The crew handles everything and the piano is insured throughout.
Schools, music services and private teachers changing studio are also regular callers. An instrument that needs a few months of insured, climate-controlled storage between teaching spaces or during a building project runs through exactly the same booking as a family collection.
Pricing for Rotherham
Prices include collection, climate-controlled storage and full insurance. Stairs without a lift and off-day collections are priced transparently in the booking. Re-delivery is quoted when you are ready for the piano back.
