The Garden of England

Kent pianos come to us for all kinds of reasons

Kent holds a lot of pianos. Old rectories and farmhouses in the villages around Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and the Weald often have an instrument that has sat in the same room for thirty years. When the house is sold, renovated or let out, there is nowhere for it to go. Families in the Medway towns downsize. Canterbury residents returning from long postings abroad need somewhere safe while they find their next home.

Our specialist piano crews collect from all of it: period cottages with narrow staircases, terraces in Chatham and Gillingham, seafront flats in Margate and Broadstairs, and new builds on the edges of Maidstone and Ashford. Whatever the property, the piano is wrapped and handled properly.

Collection day

Wednesdays across the CT, ME, TN and DA postcodes

Collections in Kent run every Wednesday. We confirm a three-hour target window the day before, so you are not stuck waiting in all morning. If a Wednesday genuinely will not work, an off-day collection can be arranged for an added charge.

Older Kent properties often have tight staircases, low beams or steps where a piano sits. Stair access is priced clearly when you book online, so you know the figure before you confirm anything.

Why specialist storage

Coastal counties are hard on pianos left in the wrong place

Salt air, damp winters and the kind of heat that builds up in a south-facing room in summer are all hard on the wood, felt and steel inside a piano. A piano left in a garage, outbuilding or unheated annexe while a house sale drags on can suffer badly. Tuning goes first, then the action, and in serious cases the soundboard.

Our climate-controlled facility keeps temperature and humidity steady all year. Every instrument is held on full insurance with round-the-clock monitored security, whether it is in store for six weeks or two years.

What we store

Every type of instrument, from a village hall upright to a Medway grand

We store uprights, baby grands, full grands and concert grands, alongside digital pianos and keyboards. Whatever the size or age of the instrument, it is handled by the same specialist crews and held in the same conditions.

Questions

Which postcodes in Kent do you collect from?

We collect across the CT, ME, TN and DA postcode areas. That covers Canterbury, the Medway towns, Tunbridge Wells, Dartford, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and the villages and towns throughout Kent.

Which day do you collect in Kent?

Kent collections run every Wednesday. We confirm a three-hour target arrival window the day before your slot. If a Wednesday does not work, an off-day collection can be arranged for an added charge.

Can you collect from a period or listed property in Kent?

Yes. Our specialist piano crews are used to older buildings with narrow cottage stairs, low ceilings and tight doorways. Stair access is priced clearly during the booking process, so you know the full cost before you confirm.

Is my piano insured while it is in storage?

Yes. Full insurance covers the piano from the moment our crew collects it, through its entire time in the climate-controlled facility, to the day we return it. The store is monitored around the clock.

How long can I store a piano in Kent?

There is no minimum or maximum term. Some customers store for a few weeks while a house sale or renovation completes. Others keep a piano with us for a year or more. You pay only for the time you use and book re-delivery when you are ready.

Do you cover the coastal towns such as Margate, Ramsgate and Folkestone?

Yes. The CT postcode area covers Canterbury, the Thanet towns including Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs, and Folkestone and the surrounding villages. Collections from all of these run on Wednesdays.
